Steelpan Adventures
Mozart Meets Steelpan
As a passion project fueled by curiosity and boredom, I arranged Mozart's Sonata No. 16 for the steelpan. This independent endeavor allowed me to explore the intersection of classical music and Caribbean culture, creating a unique interpretation of a timeless piece. It was a rewarding challenge that combined my love for music with creative expression, showcasing the versatility of the steelpan as an instrument.
Dragon’s Dance
The title "Dragon's Dance" captures the image of a dragon gracefully soaring and moving through the skies. In the opening section, the melody starts with a playful triplet pattern using the notes D, E, and G, which climb upward to mimic the dragon rising into the clouds. This piece tells the story of a mythical creature in motion, combining energy and elegance in its flight.
